Laptop back!

I finally got back my laptop! :D These are the digital works that I have promised! :D

I did all on them solely on illustrator and photoshop. :D

Video Playback function

TA-DA!

I am proud of myself! (for now! :P) I finally managed to embed the video into the Flash stage and play them according to the Mouseclick event on the buttons on the stage! YAY!

I took around 12 hours to even figure it out and get it working @_@

Yeah, I know I am kinda slow! >_<

Help!

HELP!

Why is this happening? When I tried to save this image as a PNG file from the original photoshop file (.PSD), but there wasn' a PNG option. :(

After trying all the other formats (.RAW, . TIF etc etc) I have no choice but to save it as JPEG.

And when I imported it into the Flash file, it turned out to be this way! :(

Why is this so?

Because the image got compressed? D:

Can't decide

Ever since the laptop broke down yesterday, I was trying my best to come up with another design that is simpler to create than the previous one I have.

But I can't decide on which one to use though >_<

2 Roses Vines.

It looked a little more complicated as compared to the one single vine.

1 rose vine

I think this is more simple and elegant as compared to the previous version. BUT,

the thing is I felt that it might be a little empty on the bottom left corner of the site. :(

PD gone! :(

I am unable to upload the newly designed character of Mr Bear that I have promised! :(

My laptop have been down and unfortunately that most of the main files are in the laptop which was sent for servicing. T_T

I guess I have to work on a brand new (and even simpler!) site for the PD submission. I know its too late but... I SHOULD HAVE BACKED UP THE FILES. :(

Ta-ta... Off to do the redesign now! :(

Vintage Stripes

Recreated a vintage background for my PD!

I used AI to do up the stripes so that it doesn't get pixelated when I transfer it over to Photoshop and then enlarging it to use as background.

From there I added a vintage filter which gives the background a more vintage feel.

Originally the stripes were pink and brown in colour but when I added the blue and yellow filters over it, it turned out better than what was intended to be. I guess it gives out a more vintage look as compared to the original one. :)

Hand drawn icons

Lolipop Icon! I think it kinda look too kiddish. =/

Muffin Icon. I know its badly done :( This is my first attempt to make something so simple within such a short time. Shall do a better one when I have the time!

And finally, the cookie icon.

Yeah, I know, they look super super kiddish in a way. >_< But I guess I am not gonna use them soon as I was told that we cannot use wix as our website platform for the PD website. =/

2 Pink Roses

I hand drawn these 2 roses this afternoon! :D I was trying my best to draw without any template and ta-da! viola, there it is! :D

I was staring at many illustrations and digital prints and studying them. In the end, I realise something so beautiful isn't really that hard to recreate. (What I refer to is of course those without much complicated designs)

Rilakkuma Photoshoot

Remember the Rilakkuma Shoot I mentioned a while back?

I finally have time to upload 2 of the photos from the shoot. (Sorry, due to the Blogger's image upload limitation, this is the best I can do for now.) :(

I brought along a luggage full of Rilakkuma & Korilakkma along to Botanic Garden for the photoshoot together with 2 other friends.

The shoot was long & tiring, but it was fruitful too!

Pink is my favourite colour! :D

I am trying to make the theme: Tea Party; during the photoshoot. I used many many petite cakes & tea sets during the photoshoot to recreate the kind of "Tea Party" feel. Too bad that I did not have any one I know of whom is willing to dress up for me to, if not the photoshoot of a Tea Party would be even better. =/

Some more sketches

Some simple layout of the bottom banner of the website that I am considering to place it in. I want to make it seems like a little cartoon-ish but I am afraid that it might turned out too childish that what I have expected it to be.

Simple icons that I am intending to make into buttons for the website. There are several designs that I have yet to decide on.

Mr Bear!

Meet my PD character, Mr Bear!

Been trying to sketch out many animals and trying to work them out to be mascot for my PD site. After all the 'star search' procedures, I finally picked one out of the many characters that I have sketched out!

I am still working on him currently and we might be able to see him soon with colours and in digital form! ;D *wink!*

Food Photography #1

Have been trying to take decent shot of the really pretty cakes and dessert I have been eating for the past few weeks! >_<

Read from somewhere that when doing food photography we need sufficient light to shine on the object to create the kind of appeal that the food is giving out.

Shall try more of this when I have the time to! :D

Hello Kitty Traceover

Just did a simple trace over of an issue of the Strawberry News (サンリオ | いちご新聞).

Really love this kind of drawing where by they use simple thick lines to create wonders! It really inspires me to create similar works like this for my PD.

I often do cross reference of the magazines to the designs that I am doing, therefore explaining the kind of similar style where you might spot in my PD website. ;D *wink*

I broke my lens during the Photoshoot today! :(

Accidentally bumped it against the table while walking. What am I going to do without a camera for the PD? D:

ISO setting + Aperture

Have been trying to figure out how to capture the images using the ISO setting & compensation rule on the DSLR on a sunny morning.

The images turned out:

Look a little too dark? =/

Looks a little too bright! >_<

I shall keep trying to produce better images for the PD. Meanwhile I guess I have to rely on my photo manipulation (Photoshop!) for a more balanced image!

Canon Eos Competition

I uploaded a photograph for the Canon Eos Academy Competition. Do click on the words to look at my entry :) I will not say that I am good or even dare to say I am skillful, but I just want to share how I look at the world through my camera.

In case you are too lazy to click on the link provided, this is the same image that was uploaded onto the server in its original quality. The one on the Canon site was reduced from 228MB to a few kb left therefore it wasn't much near to the standard of this original photo. Anyway in case that you are wondering where this is, this was taken in Korea during my vacation last September.
